Rhodes-Vivour pointed out that over 70 percent of people's income is now spent on transportation and food, leaving them struggling to afford basic necessities.
He argued that the current administration's culture of extravagance contradicts the dire economic situation they claim to be reforming. Responding to queries about his governorship aspirations, Rhodes-Vivour, who lost to Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the last elections, stated that he will run for the post in 2027. He emphasized the need for a united opposition to counter the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s perceived grip on Nigeria's political system. He believes that without a unified opposition, running in 2027 would be futile
