PASIR GUDANG: A retired couple lost RM120,000 of their hard-earned savings after falling prey to a scammer here.
Seri Alam OCPD Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the police received a report from a 68-year-old woman on Monday , who said that she and her husband had been conned by a scammer posing as a post officer.
“When the victim denied it, the suspect said that someone else must have used his name on the parcel. The suspect then asked him for the bank account information of both victims, claiming that it is for further investigation. He added that a total of 15 cash transactions were made from the victims’ bank account to two other accounts amounting to RM120,000.
