The grassfire is burning alongside the T8 train line between Minto and Ingleburn, in a small pocket of bush and grassland amid sprawling, suburban homes.
The out-of-control grassfire is near Wilkinson Crescent in Ingleburn and has been upgraded to a Watch and Act alert status by the New South Wales Rural Fire Service .
"It is pretty dry out there, it has got some heat behind it. The wind is pushing it around, that wind direction is changing.Hot and windy conditions have been forecast for much of NSW on Monday, with seven fire districts under a total fire ban.Greater Sydney, the Central Ranges, Lower Central West Plains, Southern Ranges, North Western, Upper Central West Plains, and the Illawarra Shoalhaven areas are under the ban.
"We are on high alert, and it is really important that if you own the land, you own the risk, and you know what your risk is," she said.
