The RNC sent a letter Thursday to North Carolina’s governor asking for clear safety guidelines for the upcoming GOP convention. The letter comes as President Trump has threatened to move the event.
WASHINGTON—Republican National Convention attendees would be given health surveys before traveling to North Carolina for President Trump’s nomination, and some would be subjected to thermal scans before boarding sanitized buses, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Thursday.
Those are some of the Covid-19 safety protocols that Ms. McDaniel suggested to North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, a Democrat, as the two sides tussle over how to proceed with the party’s convention scheduled for late August.
