WATCH: Republican presidential hopeful FrancisSuarez appeared on TheView on Friday to defend his previous comments about opponent former President Donald Trump.
The Miami mayor was asked who he would vote for between the two front-running candidates, Trump or current President Joe Biden, and answered the former. Host Sunny Hostin brought up the topic after a relatively friendly beginning to the segment in which no one outwardly disagreed with him."Now, that doesn't sound reasonable," Hostin said."You would vote for a man who's been impeached twice. You would vote for a man who has two pending indictments — criminal indictments.
"I'm running for president. I want people to vote for me," Suarez said with a smile."I'm running to convince every single person in this audience to give me a chance, to give me an opportunity to serve them, humbly, and to make their life better." Fellow host Joy Behar suggested Suarez answered"Trump" in order to get the former president's base on his side. Host Ana Navarro, jumped in to say Suarez would have to vote Republican in order to be on the Republican National Committee debate stage."What I'm saying is I would vote for myself. I'm running for president of the United States," Suarez said."I understand that the conversation always gravitates towards the former president.
