The United Ways of California study on the Real Cost Measure found that 350,000 San Diegans are struggling to make ends meet.
SAN DIEGO — A new report has ranked San Diego as the #1 most expensive city to live in the United States.based the rankings on median gross rent, annual housing costs in the city and other high fees associated with homeownership. Other metrics that the report examined include San Diego's inflation rate, cost of gas and other costs associated with living in America's Finest City."Living in San Diego is not particularly affordable.
Home prices are considerably higher than the national median sale price," the report reads."San Diegans are willing to pay these elevated prices, though, often referring to the cost-of-living differences as the"sunshine tax," or the price of enjoying a year-round temperate climate."
