A new report is giving Commanders fans hope.
The Snyders, the report said, left the facility in December in advance of the sale. Last year,listed London as his primary residence when filling out a form overseas for one of his businesses.
“Within the building, the word being used regarding a potential sale is ‘imminent,’” Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio wrote. If Snyder reaches an agreement soon, the expectation is that the deal will be approved at the NFL owners’ meetings in late March — which has long been the target date for the sale to be completed. Any new owner would need to receive 24 votes from other owners.
Pro Football Talk’s report did not mention who will buy the team. Josh Harris, Tilman Fertitta and Jeff Bezos have been among the candidates linked to the Commanders. Fertitta has reportedly made an offer of slightly more than $5.5 billion, while Harris has toured the facility and recently partnered with Maryland-based billionaire Mitchell Rales.
