GUA MUSANG: The remains of three victims who are believed to have died from a mysterious disease in the Kuala Koh Bateq settlement have been brought out from their final resting places in the settlement.

The remains of siblings Fayah and Safiyah Papan, aged 19 and 18, and that of Din Hamdan, 18, were brought to the Gua Musang Hospital for a post-mortem to determine their cause of death. Their graves were among eight graves that have so far been found in the settlement during a search-and-recovery mission that started on Wednesday .more graves believed to be situated deep in the forest.

According to Gua Musang OCPD Supt Mohd Taufik Maidin the three are believed to have died between 20 and 22 May. Earlier, the remains of two Bateq tribe members from the settlement, Romi Hamdan and Puja Joh were brought out from their resting places for a second post-mortem to determine cause of death.
