Former Lee (Huntsville) High School and wallacestate standout Craig Kimbrel is on the move again in the MLB. The Philadelphia Phillies will be the eight-time All-Star’s fourth team since the start of the 2021 season.
In 2022, Kimbrel had a 6-7 record with a 3.75 earned-run average and 22 saves in 63 relief appearances for Los Angeles. In 60 innings, Kimbrel yielded 51 hits and 28 walks and struck out 72. Kimbrel lost his spot as the Dodgers’ closer during the 2022 season and did not pitch in the postseason for Los Angeles.
Kimbrel went to the All-Star Game in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 with the Atlanta Braves, 2016, 2017 and 2018 with the Boston Red Sox and 2021 with the Cubs. Kimbrel was a World Series champion with the Red Sox in 2018.In 13 MLB seasons, Kimbrel has a 41-36 record with a 2.31 ERA in 709 relief appearances. In 688.1 innings, he has yielded 398 hits and 280 walks and struck out 1,098.
