Diablo 4 Season 2 introduces vampiric powers.
Diablo 4 is in the middle of its first Season, but Blizzard is already looking ahead to the next major content drop with their recent announcement of Season 2: Season of Blood, which is coming this fall. A cinematic trailer for Season of Blood debuted at Gamescom 2023, which gave a glimpse into the gruesome theme of vampires and a new NPC companion to guide players through the limited-time quests.
The Season 1 battle pass in Diablo 4 was received with a somewhat lukewarm reception by people when it was originally released. Notably, many of the tiers featured Platinum, an in-game currency that can also be purchased with real-world money. However, the battle pass didn't provide enough for any meaningful purchases at the shop, leaving many to wonder why it was even in the battle pass to begin with.
Rod Fergusson, the General Manager of Diablo, announced at the Gamescom 2023: Opening Night Live that during the Season of Blood, players will gain vampiric powers to help Erys in tracking down a vampire lord to put a stop to this new threat to the world of Sanctuary. This army of fanged vampires feasting on innocents may only be the beginning unless the vampire lord is discovered and disposed of once and for all.
