The Redmi 12 will go on sale this 15 July, and while the 128GB model will be getting a RM100 discount, the 256GB Redmi 12 will come with a pair of true wireless earbuds worth RM139 instead.
As such, if you’re keen on the Redmi 12, you’ll have to decide between a RM100 discount for the 128GB model or a free pair of earbuds if you prefer the 256GB Redmi 12 instead.The Redmi 12 starts off looking rather good, with a huge 6.79-inch, FHD+ IPS display that’s capable of a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 550nits. It also looks good from the back, with Xiaomi giving its entry level device a premium-looking glass back design and flat edges on the sides and back.
Under the hood meanwhile, the Redmi 12 packs a MediaTek Helio G88 processor with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. You’ll also be able to add up to 1TB of expandable storage, as well as up to 8GB of virtual extended RAM. The Redmi 12 comes with Android 13 out of the box, with MIUI 14 skinned over it.
In the camera department meanwhile, the Redmi 12 gets a triple rear camera setup, with a main 50MP, f/1.8 camera flanked by an 8MP, f/2.2 ultrawide shooter as well as a 2MP, f/2.4 macro lens. Up front you’ll also find an 8MP front facing camera for all your selfie needs, with both the rear main camera and front camera capable of up to 1080p recording at 30fps.
Other features of note include a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging via USB-C. It’s a 4G-only device with WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3 support too. You also get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a headphone jack along with an IP53 dust and water resistance rating with the Redmi 12.
