Red is a color for the bold
Photo: Getty Images If the goal of your runway show is to capture the audience’s attention, there are a few ways to do that — have Jennifer Lopez walk, throw some sequins on everything, or dress your models in stop-sign red. A red dress or a red outfit, even a red accessory, commands your attention and dares you to look. It’s a color for the bold.
At the London Fashion Week that just ended, Simone Rocha decorated her pink dresses with touches of red ribbon for a romantic effect. Molly Goddard, the queen of tulle, made a short, red party dress paired with black tights. When I describe it, it sounds like something you’d wear to a company Christmas party, but it’s really more something you’d wear to dance all night with people who are decidedly not your co-workers.
