Selepas memulakan kempen dengan membelasah Chelsea 4-0 pada 11 Ogos, Red Devils seri 1-1 di Wolverhampton , kalah 1-2 kepada Crystal Palace di Old Trafford dan seri 1-1 di Southampton .
