The NRL and AFL Grand Finals could be played in record heat this year with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting unseasonably warm temperatures this weekend.

Picture: Jason McCawley/Getty Images “By kick-off at 7:30pm temperatures are still expected to remain in the high 20s and decrease steadily throughout the game, though overhead conditions will remain mostly clear, with just a few patches of cloud,” he said.
At the MCG temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 26C making it the second hottest decider in Melbourne this century behind the 31.3C recorded in 2015 between West Coast and Hawthorn.“We could see a few patches of cloud throughout the afternoon, but conditions are expected to be mostly bright and sunny,” he said.
