PUTRAJAYA: For the second day running, Malaysia logged another daily Covid-19 record after 22,948 new cases were reported.

In his daily Covid-19 statement, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 98% of the new infections were either mild or asymptomatic cases.Dr Noor Hisham said 78.4% or 17,981 of the cases involved those who have not been fully vaccinated.Selangor still has the most number of cases with 7,175 infections.In terms of seven-day average, Selangor has the highest with 6,674 cases, followed by Sabah and Kedah .The national infectivity rate is 1.

On Covid-19 recoveries, 21,720 more patients were discharged yesterday, bringing the total number to 1,220,446.Out of this, 35 cases were classified as brought-in-dead, comprising 26 Malaysians and nine foreigners.Currently, there are 255,534 active cases nationwide, with 1,060 under intensive care and 528 on ventilator support.Of this, 23 are workplace clusters with 972 confirmed cases.
