Collingwood have revealed why their defenders were wearing nail polish during their extraordinary grand final victory over the Brisbane Lions at the end of September. In what has been hailed as one of the best grand finals in recent AFL history, the Magpies won their 16th flag by a nail-biting four points.
Why Collingwood defenders wore nail polish in the grand final. And while fans may have been chewing on their finger nails in the dying minutes, Collingwood defenders were busy making sure the polish on their nails also didn’t survive the game. In a video call Inner Sanctum, the club has now revealed what happened in the rooms before the players headed out to the MCG cauldron. The teams backline coach Brendon Bolton gathered the defenders around for a pre-game chat.
