A Queensland real estate worker has come under fire over a “cowardly” act towards a renter. Sharing on Reddit, the renter revealed how they had received an email from a property manager to say they’d been approved to move into a new home. The renter said the note was sent at 3pm and they sent back the agreement at 8pm, after working until 7pm. However because they didn’t respond for five hours, the property manager offered the rental to another tenant.
“Pretty cold hearted because I now have two weeks to try and get approved for another property and I am pretty frustrated to say the least.” The renter went on to say that they believed the property manager either made an error or was “offered a better deal after they already sent the email“. They added: “Which is bull****, because you can’t rescind an offer that’s so blatantly out in the open without looking like an absolute con artist.
