Magistrate S. Punitha made the ruling after the defendant's lawyer filed a request at the Magistrate's Court here on Thursday. A source the suspect was released on bail amounting to RM50,000 with two sureties and must report to the MACC office every month. According to the source, the MACC arrested the suspect on Monday after he appeared to record a statement at the Perak MACC office as he was suspected of bribing a civil servant who worked in the land office in a state in the north of the country to change the status of the Malay Reserve Land.
