“The prudent thing to do is to react cautiously. At this point, there is not [significant concern over missed time], but we are being very cautious to get through the early stages of camp. We’d like to see these things dissipate in the next five to seven days.” Leclerc, who missed most of 2020-21 recovering from separate shoulder and elbow injuries, is still scheduled to leave later this week for the WBC, but that seems unlikely at this point. The Rangers are consulting with their medical staff. If they have a medical issue to deal with, they have the ability to not allow Leclerc to participate. Young said those conversations were ongoing.
