Coach Sean McVay says Kupp remains day-to-day, adding that he should have more clarity on his availability for Sunday’s season opener against Seattle by midweek.
THOUSAND OAKS — The Rams’ first practice in preparation for their season opener against the Seattle Seahawks was largely notable for who was not in attendance.
On Monday, McVay stuck with the “day-to-day” timeline that he provided last week for Kupp, who was expected to rejoin the team either late Monday or Tuesday. Kupp’s agent Ryan Tollner worked with the Rams’ medical and training staff to set up this appointment. Asked if there was a possibility that the injury could cause Kupp to miss an extended period of time, McVay said he would have more information to share during his Wednesday press conference.
“I know how badly Cooper wants to be available and wants to be out there to compete with his teammates so I first feel for him,” McVay said. “What we’re not going to do is get caught up in things that are outside of our control. I’m not doing that. We’re not going to do it. … I do think that last year’s perspective and awareness is going to be beneficial to apply the way that you want to respond and not feeling sorry for yourself.
