Ramasamy threatens to sue Zakir Naik for ‘biggest enemy of Islam’ claim

The former Penang deputy chief minister wants Dr Zakir Naik to withdraw his claim and apologise for his comments in a speech last week.

Former Penang deputy chief minister P Ramasamy with his lawyer and supporters after lodging a police report against Dr Zakir Naik in Bukit Mertajam today.

Ramasamy’s lawyer Shamsher Singh Thind said a legal notice has been served to Naik over remarks he made in a speech in Nigeria on Saturday.“The allegations made by Naik against our client are entirely unfounded,” Shamsher said in a statement. Shamser said they also filed a police report at the Bukit Mertajam district police headquarters on the video, as Naik’s comments “may constitute criminal defamation and improper use of multimedia.”
