P Ramasamy’s political career has been illustrious, having served as a Penang deputy chief minister and Perai assemblyman since 2008.

The deputy chief minister’s aide, M Satees, will also not get to defend his Bagan Dalam seat, a source said. The source said Ramasamy is set to be replaced by S Sundarajoo, a former chief operating officer of Ecoworld Development Sdn Bhd who has been in the property industry for more than 31 years. The DAP leader first joined the party in 2005 after having been an academic at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia before that.
