“There are many traders who do not know where or how to start. It is imperative that they are always charitable despite having financial setbacks of their own like the rising cost of living. “The recipients are chosen by each respective village chief. The funding mostly comes from DPMS members who are mostly traders or restaurateurs. We have more than 3,000 members. “This year we managed to collect RM30,000 which is RM10,000 less than last year’s donation focused on areas in Beaufort. But at least recipients can now look forward to Hari Raya,” he said.
