KUCHING: The Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) is expected to attract about 20,000 visitors this year despite competition from other events in the region, says Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
The state Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister said RWMF had created a niche of its own among world music lovers, with many repeat visitors attending the event.
"But RWMF has been there for the last 26 years and is recognised as one of the top 25 major international music festivals. Abdul Karim said the response had been good so far, with all 3,000 early-bird tickets snapped up already.RWMF will take place at the Sarawak Cultural Village here from June 23 to 25.
