Memilih tema pentahbisannya yang dipetik 2 Korintus 12:9: “Rahmat-Ku cukup bagimu, sebab kuasa-Ku menjadi sempurna dalam kelemahan”, Fr Appolonius Yakis , telah ditahbis pada Mac 25 lalu di Gereja Holy Cross Toboh, Tambunan.

Uskup Cornelius mengungkapkan penghargaan kepada ibu bapa Fr Appolonius yang menyokong beliau sepanjang pembentukan menjadi paderi. Fr Rudolph Joannes, paderi paroki St Theresa dan Holy Cross menyelitkan dalam ucapannya semasa pertama kali mengajukan idea untuk menghantar para seminarian melanjutkan pembentukan ke STIKAS, yang mana cadangan tersebut diterima baik oleh Uskup Cornelius.“Terpesona melihat keindahan jubah paderi, telah menjentik hati seorang kanak-kanak untuk menyahut panggilan-Nya”.

Pengalaman dari pelayanan-pelayanan itu telah memberi sukacita serta menjadikannya peribadi yang lebih baik dan berbelas kasihan.
