Rahim Thamby Chik: Umno should endorse Perikatan charter for victory in next GE

PETALING JAYA: Umno should shed the notion that it can return to power just on the strength of Muafakat Nasional in the next general election, says former party strongman Tan Sri Rahim Thamby Chik.

He said it was better for Umno to endorse the Perikatan Nasional charter and share power with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

He said court cases involving Umno leaders could see detrimental outcomes, which may adversely affect the party's chances of returning to power at the 15th General Election."Umno members should not assume that their party is invincible just because it boasts membership by the millions. Umno had been deregistered before," he said.
