A major police investigation is underway in Perth's south after police shot dead a teenager who stabbed a member of the public. Police Commissioner Col Blanch said when police arrived on scene, two officers withdrew their Tasers, while a third took out their firearm, confronting the lone teenager. Commissioner Blanch said the boy was known to police, had mental health issues, and appeared to have been radicalised online. He said the boy had sent messages to members of the Muslim community who had “immediately responded by calling police”.
