PETALING JAYA: Once again, the R.AGE team has done it on the world stage.

Behind the scenes: A hidden camera shot of R.AGE’s Student/Trafficked investigations, which won a True Story Award. The young investigative journalism team based in Malaysia has won yet another international award, this time in the “World” category of the inaugural True Story Award, based in Switzerland.

“In the 21st century, journalism’s role as an indispensable critical institution for democracy is continually being put to the test. “It’s great that we are bringing the Asian voice to the global stage. This will only spur us on,” said Star Media Group chief content officer Esther Ng, who oversees the R.AGE team.

In late 2015, it was revamped into an investigative documentary platform, targeting an older audience with hard-hitting journalism on social justice issues.
