THE Selangor government, through Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI Selangor), is currently requesting proposals from companies to operate the demand-responsive transit (DRT) service under the Selangor Mobility Unit (SMU).
A 36-second TikTok video posted by user @rzwangarin recently went viral, showing workers using normal house kettles and an air compressor to pour tar into potholes. The video, believed to have been recorded near a Sekolah Agama Negeri in Kelanahan, Papar , Sabah, sparked public concern about road maintenance quality. Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi has confirmed that the location in the video is Jalan Kg Kelanahan, Papar , a state road under a state road maintenance concessionaire.
While the Federal Government did not carry out the work, Nanta took the matter seriously and instructed his officers to investigate. Following the investigation, the concession company was given a stern reminder to ensure all road maintenance adheres to proper procedures and prioritises quality and safety.
Nanta also said that the Works Ministry and its agencies would not tolerate non-compliance with standard operating procedures. The video is authentic, but the work was done under a state road maintenance concessionaire, not the federal ministry. The ministry has since taken action to address concerns over road repair standards.QuickCheck: Is it true that the British Pound is the oldest currency in the world?
