The FHOG is a national scheme funded by states and territories to offset the impact of the GST on home ownership. Eligible first-time homeowners can receive a one-off grant, with slightly different eligibility criteria across jurisdictions. From 20 November, the FHOG for eligible Queenslanders has increased from $15,000 to $30,000 for new properties valued at less than $750,000.
