The quality of life for many people in L.A. County appears to be dropping, according to a new survey. High prices, rising crime, health concerns and the homeless crisis are all playing a part.
LOS ANGELES -- High prices, homelessness, rising crime and health concerns are taking their toll on the quality of life in Los Angeles County, with a UCLA survey released Friday revealing the lowest level of residents' overall satisfaction in the survey's seven-year history.UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs
"For the first time since the inception of this survey, respondents' ratings dropped in each of the nine categories, and eight of the nine fell to their lowest rating ever,'' Zev Yaroslavsky, director of the Los Angeles Initiative, said in a statement. "What the pandemic couldn't do over the last two years, inflation and increases in violent and property crime succeeded in doing,'' Yaroslavsky said. It appears that the dam has burst this year.''
