“Itong batas na 20-percent discount every first and last Sunday. Ginawa na namin ang internal rate of return IRR, ibinigay na namin sa Business Permits and Licensing Department . Ibinaba na po iyan sa lahat ng business establishments . It has been given to all business establishments),” Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said on Sunday, April 30.
Under the ordinance, each solo parent must present a valid Solo Parent ID issued by the Quezon City-Social Services Development Department in order to avail of the 20-percent discount. “Ano ang ating magiging tungkulin? Isumbong ang mga establisimyentong hindi tumutupad dito. Saan isusumbong? Sa Helpline 122 ,” Belmonte added.
Belmonte said the city government will continue to support the welfare of solo parents and that her administration has lined up several programs and projects, including the implementation of the "Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act."
