Australia will have a sustainable aviation fuel refinery in Queensland following an agreement between Qantas, Airbus and the state government.
The refinery is expected to start construction next year with a maximum output of 100 million litres of fuel a year.
Today’s announcement will see the companies jointly invest $2 million in the new plant with the Queensland government putting in $760,000.
