A viral video has sparked outrage after showing several men allegedly releasing pythons into a drain in Putra Heights, Malaysia. Police have confirmed receiving a report about the incident and have referred the case to the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) for further action.

Drains are generally not the most pleasant of places, and this is exacerbated by the actions of irresponsible individuals who treat them as personal dumping grounds. However, a recent video depicting several men allegedly releasing pythons into a drain in Putra Heights has seemingly reached new heights of irresponsibility. Police have confirmed receiving a report about an incident where three individuals released pythons into a drain along Jalan Persiaran Putra Permai, Putra Heights.

According to Sinar Harian, Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat stated that the report was filed by a local man at the Putra Heights police station around 10.15am on February 3rd. ACP Wan Azlan explained that the report was made after the complainant viewed a viral video of the act, prompting concerns for his family's safety. Investigations conducted by the Putra Heights police confirmed that the incident occurred in mid-January. ACP Wan Azlan added that the case has since been referred to the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) for further action.
