Embattled consulting giant PwC will today announce a major overhaul of governance, culture and accountability when it releases a long-awaited independent review into a tax leak scandal that has badly damaged the firm's reputation.
In addition to revealing Dr Switkowski's findings and recommendations today, PwC will announce a management response and "action plan" in the latest attempt to rebuild trust and integrity.
In a bid to improve oversight of decisions, PwC will appoint three non-executive directors to its Australian governance board which will include a non-executive chair. PwC Australia chief executive Kevin Burrowes — who was parachuted in from the firm's Singapore office as part of the damage control — will brief the firm's partners and staff later today.
"It marks a moment from which we, and others, can measure progress against our commitments to enhance the firm's governance, accountability and culture," Mr Burrowes said."We are committed to learning, changing and leading. This is our promise to our people, our partners, our clients and our communities."
