PwC’s push for a bigger slice of renewable energy deals is taking shape, with ex-RBC Capital Markets banker David Fair joining to spearhead its team in Sydney.
Fair, who spent three years at RBC, started as a director in PwC’s energy transition team this week, and will be advising clients on MThe banker will work for PwC energy transition partner Danny Bessell, who was hired toIt comes as PwC seeks to get in on what’s likely to be huge investment in Australian renewable energy projects in coming yeare, targeting work historically done by investment banks and boutique advisory firms.
The Australian government has legislated a target of net-zero emissions by 2050 and a 43 per cent reduction to 2005-level emissions by 2030. A big part of the emission cuts are expected to take place in the national electricity market, with coal-fired power stations to be replaced by renewable energy sources.
