PwC CEO Tom Seymour has denied that up to 30 partners and staff were involved in sharing confidential information obtained by former firm star Peter Collins.
PwC chief executive Tom Seymour has denied that up to 30 partners and staff were involved in sharing confidential government tax policy information obtained by former PwC star Peter Collins, contradicting evidence heard by a Senate committee last month.
“If you read the findings, and you read the actual TPB findings, they say one partner shared information. They say we should have had a policy in place. And they say, as a result of that, there is a risk that one could perceive ... that in all of his dealings there was a conflict there,” he said. During the hearing, Labor Senator Deborah O’Neill asked Mr O’Neill: “How high up in PwC did this go? Who was complicit with Mr Peter-John Collins? At what level were the executives at PwC?”Mr O’Neill replied: “There were partners and staff both in Australia and internationally who were involved in these discussions, from the evidence we have available to us.”Senator O’Neill: “20 or 30 people?”
