Menurut statistik polis, 577 kes pembuangan bayi direkodkan dalam tempoh 4 tahun sehingga 2018.
Ketika melancarkan kempen mencegah pembuangan bayi di Kawasan Rehat dan Rawat Dengkil, Lebuhraya Utara Selatan hari ini, Wan Azizah yang juga menteri Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat menasihatkan remaja atau wanita yang terlanjur supaya tidak melakukan tindakan yang boleh membahayakan nyawa mereka dan bayi yang dikandung.
Mengenai kempen yang dilancarkan, Wan Azizah berkata inisiatif bersama PLUS itu akan menyaksikan pelekat dan poster kesedaran termasuk nombor Talian Kasih diletak dan ditampal di lokasi strategik termasuk di pintu tandas di semua 22 R&R di seluruh negara.
