Amnesty International Malaysia berkata mereka itu ditahan di pusat-pusat berkenaan tanpa sebarang proses undang-undang kerana dianggap tidak setia pada pemerintah dan Parti Komunis China. Amnesty mengulas kenyataan Mujahid di Facebook tentang lawatannya ke “pusat latihan dan vokasional bagi masyarakat Uyghur”, istilah yang digunakan Beijing bagi menempatkan ribuan orang Islam yang mengkritik dasar China di Xinjiang.
