Dublin and Meath GAA have something in common with the likes of Eric Cantona and Lance Armstrong in apologising in public after stepping out of line
One of the quirkiest GAA stories of 2023 concerned Meath GAA. Whoever was in charge of their Twitter account wasn't impressed by a visit to Ballycran in Down.
Armstrong, Woods and Cantona all reached the heights in their respective sports, and also contributed three of the most jaw dropping apologies in sporting history. As for Cantona, his apology was up there with Fr Jack's 'I'm really, really sorry' one on a memorable Fr Ted episode. Remember Bruno Fernandes and how he behaved after Manchester United lost at home to Aston Villa three years ago.
