Pemain tengah pasukan bola keranjang Portland Trail Blazers, Enes Kanter berkata beliau mendapatkan nasihat pemain terhandal NBA Hakeem Olajuwon bagaimana hendak mengekalkan momentum permainannya ketika berpuasa pada bulan Ramadan.
“Saya mesej dia dan tanya, ‘Hei, bagaimana awak bermain dengan kecergasan yang maksimum walaupun berpuasa sepanjang Ramadan.” Menurut Kanter berpuasa juga menyebabkan beliau tidak dapat mengambil ubat untuk bahunya yang terluka.
