PSL's new Carling Knockout Cup offers R100k to player of the match
A player of the match in the Carling Knockout Cup will go home with R100 000, but the organisers of the new tournament did not disclose the amount the winning team will pocket.The tournament, a replacement for the Telkom Knockout, will feature all the 16 teams in the premier division of the PSL.This is a completely different tournament from the exhibition one-day Carling Black Label Cup, where fans are allowed to vote for the teams and starting line-ups of their choice.
“The venue for the final of the tournament will be announced when we get to the semifinals,” said Mpfuni after the draw. PSL’s brand marketing, media and sponsorship head Nonhlanhla Nkosi added: “The SA Breweries has been a partner and supporter of football and the PSL for over 60 years.
