PSL finally gives Downs preferred crowning date
Mamelodi Sundowns have been handed the opportunity to play their preferred DStv Premiership fixtures ending that allows them to be crowned champions before their home fans on May 25.
They were crowned champions on a Tuesday last season, lifted the 2021/22 title away at Royal AM, while the 2020/21 title was before empty seats at Loftus during the Corona virus days.Before that, the 2018/19 title came away at Goble Park Stadium while the 2017/18 was at the Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.
The latest changes have Sundowns playing Golden Arrows at Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale on Wednesday then Royal AM on Saturday at Loftus. From there, Rulani Mokwena and his team will be off to Mbombela Stadium for a date with TS Galaxy on May 21 after the fixture was brought closer by a week.This will then have the Brazilians playing their last league match at home against Cape Town City on May 25 and being handed the league trophy on the same day.
