Protesters under the aegis of the Coalition of Ondo State Indigenes Against Corruption , have asked for the sack of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi.

Their spokesperson,Feyi Emmanuel, said they decided to storm the governor’s office because the institution under the vice Chancellor was on the verge of collapse.” We decided to protest from Ondo town to the streets of Akure to let Governor Aiyedatiwa know about ‘ongoing atrocities at UNIMED. “It is the foremost leading institution in the country in the field of medicine and other relevant medical courses. “The institution needs to be rescued from the grip of Fatusi. Prof Fatusi’s only mission is to leave the school in ruins.“Mr. Governor, we urge you to urgently intervene and sack Fatusi. He has rendered our people jobless by ensuring that 70 per cent of UNIMED staffers are non-indigenes.

Oluyi said, “This is the first specialized university of medical sciences in Nigeria that has grown in leaps and bounds under Professor Adesegun Fatusi with visible evidence in terms of accomplishments.” Results do not lie. The footprints of Professor Fatusi in terms of remarkable achievements are there even for a blind man to see.
