The seal for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas hangs on the wall at the Federal Courthouse Tuesday Sept. 18, 2018 in Houston.Wednesday in Texas and New York on conspiracy and money laundering charges, accusing them of scamming governments and businesses into paying millions of dollars to fraudulent bank accounts.
Every person charged Wednesday was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering. The group is accused of running a scheme where they would pose as a legitimate, already-existing business and trick that business' customers into sending money to a fraudulent bank account.
