Princess Mary’s four children have described her Australian accent as “funny” in a resurfaced video from the royal’s 50th birthday.

Her four children described how she spoke Danish words “funny” with an Australian accent, ranging from mispronouncing sounds to butchering sayings.

“Sometimes when she wants to say: ‘is the dog in her basket?’, she says, “the dog lies in its hook,” the 17-year-old said. Princess Isabella, the 12-year-old twin of Prince Vincent, revealed the whole family teased the Australian-born royal over her pronunciation skills, much to Mary’s chagrin.Princess Mary has lived in Denmark since 2001.
