The royals made their second appearance at the tournament on Saturday to cheer on the team from Charlene’s home country, South Africa.
On Saturday, Monaco’s Princess Charlene was in the stands when her home country, South Africa, prevailed over New Zealand in the Rugby World Cup. The princess, an avid sports fan and former Olympic swimmer, was deeply engaged in the match at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, outside of Paris, and threw her hands into the air when time was called. She was so excited by the win that it led to a public embrace and kiss with her husband, Prince Albert II.
Following that visit, South Africa’s Minister of Sport, Arts & Culture announced that the ministry was in the process of formalizing a partnership with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, which supports swimming education and water safety awareness in the country.
