Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his condolences on the passing of renowned Malaysian maestro, Tan Sri Ahmad Nawab, who died at the age of 92. Anwar described Ahmad Nawab as not only a brilliant composer and musician but also a soul who moved the hearts of the people through his beautiful and meaningful works.
KUALA LUMPUR : Pemergian maestro terkemuka tanah air, Allahyarham, Tan Sri Ahmad Nawab , petang tadi turut menyentuh hati Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Turut berduka dengan perkhabaran tersebut, Anwar merakamkan ucapan takziah kepada keluarga Tokoh Seniman Negara itu atau yang dilaporkan telah meninggal dunia, petang tadi. Dalam hantarannya di Facebook, Anwar menyifatkan Ahmad Nawab bukan sekadar komposer dan pemuzik unggul, malah memiliki jiwa seni menyentuh hati seluruh rakyat menerusi karya indah dan penuh makna.
“Negara kehilangan seorang tokoh dan permata seni yang begitu besar jasanya dalam memperkayakan landskap muzik tanah air, bukan sahaja menjadi warisan seni, tetapi juga menjadi pengikat perpaduan di dalam masyarakat kita.“Takziah saya utuskan kepada keluarga Allahyarham. Mendoakan roh Allahyarham diampunkan segala dosanya dan diberi tempat istimewa di sisi-Nya, Insya-Allah. Al-Fatihah,” katanya menerusi hantaran itu.
