The parents have been clear: No one is blaming anyone for this tragedy., a child clinical psychologist and the suicide prevention clinical manager for the Center for Suicide Prevention and Research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, told me identifying the warning signs can be difficult.

His parents think his transition to high school was more difficult than they realized. They considered his ongoing academic struggles and outbursts at home as normal teenage behavior for a freshman trying to fit in.
