United States President Joe Biden has officially announced he will run for a second term in the 2024 Presidential Elections in a three-minute campaign video.
“I spent the work of my first term to fight for our democracy, to protect our rights, to make sure everyone in this country is treated equally and that everyone is given a fair shot at making it,” he said in the video.Biden referenced a speech he made when he first ran for the presidency in which he said the country was “in a battle for the soul of America”.The 46th President told US citizens that “this was not a time to be complacent” and called on voters to take a stand for democracy.
The nominees for Republican Party include Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy and Asa Hutchinson.Biden’s announcement comes days after Robert F. Kennedy Jr unveiled his candidacy last week, causing a stir due to his relation to former president John F. Kennedy.
